Ed Sheeran Performs Hozier Cover of 'Take Me to Church' Live, Watch Here (VIDEO)
Ed Sheeran stopped by BBC Radio 1 in London, England on Tuesday morning (Sept 30). The singer/songwriter was was in town for the 2014 iTunes Festival in Camden.
The 23-year-old "Sing" artist performed his version of Hozier's "Take Me to Church" full on with three back-up singers. He shows off his soul side in his arrangement. You can check it out above. What do you think of it?
Sheeran new album X topped the U.S. Billboard 200 chart earlier this Summer in July selling 210,000 copies, according to figures from Nielsen SoundScan.
X is the sound album from the 23-year-old songwriter. The No. 2 album the same week was In the Lonely Hour from fellow British singer-songwriter Sam Smith, sold 67,000 copies. 1993 was the last time two British solo artists were No. 1 and 2 on the U.S. album chart with albums from Eric Clapton and Sting.
Ed Sheeran toured most of last year with Taylor Swift on her RED World Tour giving Sheeran great exposure to new audiences each night. The two collaborated on songs for Swift's RED album as well and wrote songs for One Direction.
His debut album, +, containing the singles "The A Team" and "Lego House", was certified quintuple platinum in the United Kingdom. In 2012, he won two Brit Awards for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act. "The A Team" won the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically.
"The A Team" was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2013 Grammy Awards and he performed the song in duet with Elton John during the ceremony. He was nominated for Best New Artist at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.
