True Detective Season 2 News, Updates, Cast and Release Date: Will go on with a new cast and story plot!

The first season of True Detective, an HBO original series has truly received widespread critical acclaim that even won awards at the Emmy's. Why not anyway? It starred Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson in the first place and it's not just the actors but also its director that made the show a successful one.

Now, where does True Detective season 2 enter after this? Because let's face it, it's going to be a big challenge for the next season's actors and new director to outshine or balance with the first one.

The bittersweet prospect of the second season would be the fact that there will be a major change to the next season's format. It embraces an anthology structure that would follow different actors and directors. But there's one person who isn't leaving the boat yet, yes - Showrunner Nic Pizzolatto is up for the challenge.

Who will we be expecting for True Detective season 2? Here enters Vince Vaughn, Colin Farrell and Rachel McAdams that can tie up to McConaughey and Harrelson's performance.

In more True Detective Season 2 news, Pizzolatto stated that the synopsis for the upcoming season would concentrate on "hard women, bad men and the secret occult history of the United States transportation system." In an interview with a radio program, Pizzolatto also revealed more of what we would see in season 2 such as the all-new three lead characters, the setting that will take place in a much lesser known venues of California and of course, a totally different story from the first one that we truly look forward to.

True Detective Season 2 premiere date is set on the summer of 2015.
