Gotham Season 1 Episode 4 Spoilers and Preview: Don Maroni Fights Don Falcone For Control Of Arkham District; Fish and Penguin Continue With Their Secret Schemes
Gotham Season 1 episode 4 which airs Monday, October 13, at the 8 PM time slot on the FOX network is entitled "Arkham." The studio synopsis reads: "As a contentious city council vote on the future of the Arkham district approaches, politicians on both sides are in danger. Gordon and Bullock must race to protect the council and an old friend visits Gordon."
In the last scene of last week's episode, Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) was shown paying James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) a surprise visit. Based on how he was attired, it seems Oswald has already moved up in the restaurant business of Salvatore Maroni (David Zayas), the Mafia Don who heads a crime family rival of Don Carmine Falcone's (John Doman) faction. Could Oswald, under the guise of providing information that could be used in the fight against crime, also be setting Gordon up to indirectly help his new boss get an advantage over Don Falcone? Gotham's Arkham district is up for grabs and the two Mafia factions are fighting over who will have the final control over it. Two councilmen have already been murdered, forcing Gordon and his partner Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) to do all they can to protect the remaining council members.
Meanwhile, Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith), one of Don Falcone's mob leaders, is still busy secretly plotting to overthrow and undermine her own boss. As seen from the episode's teaser trailer, she is trying to recruit a female singer who can serve as a possible weapon against Don Falcone.
The other members of the Gotham cast are Sean Pertwee as Alfred, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle/the future Catwoman, Zabryna Guevara as Captain Sarah Essen, Cory Michael Smith as Edward Nygma/the future Riddler, Victoria Cartagena as Renee Montoya, and Andrew Stewart Jones as Crispus Allen. Also guest starring for the Arkham episode are Richard Kind as Mayor James, Drew Powell as Butch Gilzean, Grayson McCouch as Thomas Wayne, Evander Duck as Councilman Kenkins, Hakeem Kae-Kazim as Gladwell, Brad Calcaterra as Minks, Danny Mastrogiorgio as Frankie Carbone and Mackenzie Leigh as Liza.
