Motorola Droid Turbo vs Droid Mini Features, Specs: A Comprehensive Comparison
To keep up the pace with the current competitive smartphone market Motorola is rolling out big names like Moto X and now mid ranged DROID Turbo. DROID Turbo is also referred as Moto X Play, which has passed the FCC test in the U.S and soon will be available on market. Let's go through a quick review on two of the Motorola DROID series smartphone DROID Turbo and Droid Mini.
Motorola DROID Turbo has just being announced, while the release date is in November. The phone has 5.2-ich display screen size with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution with amazing 565 pixels per inch. The knife-edge sharp pixel density says how well its display resolution will be. The display type will be IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors.
The DROID Turbo Mini is just the small sibling of DROID Turbo with 4.3-inch display screen size that has 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. The pixel density in a small screen is also very impressive with 342pixels per inch. The display glass is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass and the display type is TFT capacitive touchscreen.
Motorola has charged up the camera segment in the DROID series smartphone where the DROID Turbo has 21MP rear facing camera with dual LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, panorama, HDR, face detection features according to GSMarena. Obviously there will be provision for front facing camera but the sensor specification has not been declared the trusted sources. The rear camera will be well capable of recording 2160p video. The DROID Mini is well packed with impressive 10MP camera sensor and 2MP front camera sensor. The front camera can record video of 1080p at 30fps.
The DROID Turbo has smashing hardware configuration with powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset with Quad-Core 2.65 GHz Krait 450 processor. To provide excellent gaming experience the GPU segment is equipped with Adreno 420.
On the other hand DROID Mini is packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset and Dual-Core 1.7 GHz processor. It has decent GPU emulator of Adreno 320. DROID Turbo will operate with 3GB of RAM while DROID Mini works fine with 2GB of RAM. The internal memory of DROID Turbo will be 32GB with microSD storage facility while DROID Mini has 16GB of internal storage with no facility of extra storage system.
DROID Turbo will come with the latest Android 5.0 L (Lollypop) while DROID Mini is operated with Android OS 4.2 Jelly Bean and upgradable to v4.4.4 KitKat, according to IBTimes
