'The Simpsons' Season 26 Episode 3 Recap: Marge Opens A New Sandwich Store; Family-Ties and Good Humor Remains as the Show's Trademark
With more than two decades in television, the American animated sitcom still has not failed to entertain their viewers in their own simple but realistic way. If you miss "The Simpsons" latest episode, then you better read this recap.
Created by Matt Groening, "The Simpsons" is currently in its Season 26 and its third episode, titled "Super Franchise Me" debuted last Sunday, Comic Book reported. The latest chapter in the middle class American Simpson family revolves on Marge new business, a sandwich franchise store.
"The Simpsons" Season 26 Episode 3, as TV Fanatic cited, the scene opened with Rod and Todd's vampire appliances school project and because they cannot do it alone, they asked for Ned's help in hunting for the needed appliances. As Ned looked for a vampire appliance, he found out that his freezer was with Homer and he then took it back.
Because he has no freezer anymore, Homer feared that the meat they have will get rotten and uneaten. Marge then volunteered and made sandwiches out of the meat from the freezer. To show off some hyperbole, she "brings out a basket full of different sandwiches."
An unknown woman then persuaded Marge to open a franchise store. After realizing that Homer has no savings, she decided to start her own venture. Coincidentally, Krusty' sandwich store was closed as well.
Marge, along with the rest of the Simpsons helped in the initial days of the new sandwich store. Marge's new business set in Springfield Elementary became a huge hit. But the sales decreased after the same store opened across their post.
The Simpsons kept on working hard, Homer even lost some weight, but there are no customers anymore. Marge finally decided to end her contract and she is able to get her money back.
In a different TV Fanatic review, it is noted that Marge's going against the same store competitor has already happened in an earlier season of the hit animated sitcom. Mrs. Krabappel also opened a store, a muffin shop to be specific, and eventually a competitor also sprouted.
But despite the reading theme, The Simpsons at its 26th episode still possess its trademark, the good and entertaining humor. There are also other things that remained unchanged even after 25 years like how Homer tend to have a lot of Ned's-owned stuff.
The third episode of its Season 26 also upholds the strong family-ties that have been a main theme of the show ever since it started. Undoubtedly, 25 years after, "The Simpsons" remains to be a full-of-sense satirical animated sitcom.
