iPod Touch 5th Generation iOS 8.1 Update Error: Fix Them All
It was believed that the upcoming operating system update will help users deal with all Apple device problems being faced from over a month or so. However, things turned out to be pretty different with more and more users facing the update issues. As far as the iPod users are concerned, problems are actually bigger than expected. It all starts with the download just refusing to complete, in which case users cannot really do much.
Experts have come up with certain fixes specifically for iPod Touch 5 Gen users to deal with these common iOS 8.1 issues. To start with, experts recommend that you connect the device to iTunes on computer with a high speed internet connection. Make sure that you are not traveling and have plenty of time in hand. Initiate the update and wait till it is completed. Of course, keep the battery charged up to 80% before this update in initiated.

Meanwhile, if you have already updated and are facing issues with WiFi, Bluetooth, and random reboots it better to reset all iPod 5 settings. Navigate to the general option under settings icon to find this. It should also help with battery drain issues. However, several iOS 8.1 engineers also recommend that you download a third party application that can clean junk files from the iPod. Often these applications can clean up to a gigabyte of junk and help perform faster than expected after the update.
In terms of keyboard that does not respond, it is recommended to turn off all settings especially ones that predict what you are going to write. Also reset the iCloud and keyboard settings once for better results. These things should ideally resolve all the common problems faced by iPod Touch 5 users, but if there is something else you will have to wait for few more days till Apple comes up with another patch for performance upgrade in the devices. You should also reduce the load on RAM by killing any app working in the background or eating up the WiFi data. A third party task killer app can also help here for performance boost.
