People Of The Earth's “Victory” Reflects Small-town Church’s Revival
Despite the small-town feel of Somerset, Kentucky, the magnitude of what God has been doing through the town's church community is insurmountable. With hearts rooted in their local church, People Of The Earth (POTE), will release their EP, "Victory," on January 25th, 2019, following their single release of "Even Louder" on January 11th, 2019 through a digital distribution partnership with Capitol CMG. People of the Earth, comprised of worship and pastoral leaders, view their upcoming album, "Victory," as a reflection of the spiritual renewal God has been doing in and through His church.
"We have witnessed God do miraculous things as He is awakening a community of believers to His power," says Dustin Fenison (Vocals / Guitar). "Walking through this season of claiming Jesus' 'victory' has been the framework for this EP."
While their church's worship revival has been in motion over the past five years, People Of The Earth have seen the fruit of God's labor in a tangible way within the last eighteen months, as they have written and recorded these new songs. In addition to receiving a new vision for worship, they have seen life transformation among many in their congregation which reflect this growth. For example, in their church-sponsored recovery ministry, they have seen the Lord help people claim victory over devastating circumstances including loss, grief and cycles of addiction. With the ability to change everything in an instant, People Of The Earth describes "victory" as a constant reality because of Jesus' finished work at the cross; this reality calls us to witness God's love by uniting together, through worship.
Each a self-proclaimed 'pastor's kid,' People Of The Earth's passion for worship stems playing, writing and expressing themselves in the church through music. Comprised of Dustin Fenison (Vocals / Guitar), Jorge Lopez Jr. (Drums), Steve Hampton (Guitar) and Josh Lopez (Keys), the bands totes musical influences from artists including Toto, Duran Duran, and "80's pop." but also acknowledge it is hard to step too far away from their Kentucky music roots. The band has seen considerable success to date, even as they have continued to build their platform independent of a label.
Since 2014, the band has released a Full-Length CD ("We Are People of the Earth," 2015), EP ("In All Things," 2017), 6 singles and a new Christmas Single, "Come to Jesus - Reconciliation Hymn" (2018), seeing 6M+ streams and recent features on some of the most influential playlists in Christian Music including Spotify's Worship Now and Epic Praise, as well as Apple Music's A-List Christian & Praise & Worship playlists. Additionally, the band has travelled throughout the country leading worship at national camps, conferences and festivals. They have also toured as support for artists such as 7eventh Time Down and Alisa Turner.
All songs on the "Victory" EP were written and produced by People Of The Earth with Jorge Lopez Jr doing the heavy production lifting; one of their songs, "Jesus Saves," is a popular hymn produced by Chris Bevins and written by the band's worship pastor, David Moffitt (a songwriter for Capitol CMG), and worship artist, Travis Cottrell.
Joining Capitol CMG for digital distribution of "Victory," People Of The Earth is excited to see where the recent momentum takes their new songs in 2019; it is their hope that this unique collection of songs will serve to uplift and inspire all who listen.
"This entire album speaks to the victory that was won for us by Jesus through his death, burial, and resurrection," says Fenison. "The songs are dripping with the hope of a people who live knowing the war has been won and the enemy defeated and who anxiously await the return of our King to set everything right."
To hear People Of The Earth's new songs, be on the lookout for their single release, "Even Louder," on January 11th, 2019, followed by their EP Release for "Victory" on January 25th, 2019. Take note: if you pre-order the "Victory" EP on January 11th, 2019, you'll get "Even Louder" as an instant grat track when you do!
