Incubus New Album Release and Other Latest News; Frontman and Guitarist "Plotting" Something; Tour to Follow After Album Release
The various members of the band Incubus have been off the spotlight in recent years as all of them began pursuing a variety of side projects on their own. However, just recently, it seems like an Incubus new album is in the works. The last album of the band was three years ago, with the 2011 release "If Not Now, When?" which included singles such as "Promises, Promises" and "Adolescents." That had been the band's first comeback with their new music in five years, from 2009's "Monuments and Melodies" and with hits filling the gap between studio albums.
During the gap created by time between the two albums, frontman Brandon Boyd had released his own solo album "Sons of the Sea." At the same time, guitarist Mike Einziger worked with EDM star Avicii and even contributed to the score of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Earlier this summer, however, the two are seen on Boyd's Instagram account in a photo of him and Einziger in a studio with the caption that read: "Plotting."
Einziger also shared some thoughts about the band's possible regrouping for the new album: "I feel like it's the first album we've made since 2006. We start touring Australia in February and plan to just be on the road next year. I would imagine we'll have something come out in February before the first tour starts early next year. Right now, we have about six songs in various stages of completion; a lot of them are just the music. Brandon's been out of town, so we've been sending him music and he's been writing lyrics while travelling. Our only concrete plan right now is to work until the end of the year."
